Abstract :
The power radiated by a single accelerating point charge in isolation is related to its acceleration (Griffiths 1989). In regard to the work of Miller (1996) the following question arose. Can the power radiated by a large group of accelerating charges be related to their accelerations? The answer to this question is possibly yes if there are no other groups of accelerating charges nearby. However, the answer is no if at least one other group of accelerating charges whose density and acceleration are not known is nearby. The answer is no because in the present paper, it is shown that the power radiated by one group of accelerating charges is affected by the nearby presence of another group of accelerating charges.
