Abstract :
Reliability of a system is evaluated on the basis of faults which are permanent in nature, but in reality system failures are due to faults which are intermittent in nature. Intermittent fault describes a fault or an error that is occasionally present due to unstable hardware or software states. When the system is subject to intermittent and permanent faults, a model for studying reliability of digital systems is set up in this paper which is based on Markov model containing three states
