Abstract :
Chemical element mappings of sample surfaces are of special interest in the field of material development and quality assurance. An interesting analysing method is the laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). At the LIBS method a small amount of material of the sample is evaporated within the focus of a pulsed laser beam and small plasma is generated. The element specific radiation of the plasma is analysed with a spectrometer and with the corresponding data the chemical composition of the sample is determined.
