Abstract :
A low cost method for tyre monitoring has been outlined. This method is contactless and relies on a passive LC circuit whose properties can be made to change with tyre pressure, responding to a burst of RF energy. Preliminary experimental work has verified the principles of the system and its ability to detect changes of circuit performance. The simple nature of the passive LC circuit could make it suitable for incorporation into a tyre sidewall or tyre valve
