Abstract
The present work proposes a communication system to ensure Internet connectivity and network transparency to a group of nodes within a vehicle in the heterogeneous wireless networks environment. It organizes routers and hosts located inside a vehicle into a mobile network. Each vehicle is equipped with multiple cares of addresses corresponding to multiple network interfaces. The proposed scheme provides uninterrupted Internet connectivity to the nodes while the vehicle moves. The nodes within such vehicle forward their traffic using the most appropriate network interface which helps to improve the quality of service per node in terms of user satisfaction. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated in terms of the blocking probability per traffic class, resource utilization per network and average throughput per network and message exchange overhead.
