Abstract :
Many visualization and teleconferencing applications can be enhanced if the user can control the viewpoint of either a single three dimensional perspective projection or a pair of projections presented with stereo viewing capability. This work explores the possibility of implementing this control by synthesizing the desired views from an array of fixed cameras rather than remotely controlling a camera. Computational requirements are considered for general purpose platforms and platforms with special purpose processors or parallel implementations
