Abstract :
Growing awareness of the global environmental agenda over the past two decades is driving manufacturing enterprises to internalise environmental aspects of their businesses, both to meet local environmental regulations and to conform to emerging international standards and best practices. One of the. challenges for an enterprise moving to SOA is the management and visibility of business processes end-to-end. Using the links between the business functions of a manufacturing enterprise and the environmental dimension of the businesses, a simplified service-oriented software model is derived to deliver information on the life cycle environmental impacts of manufactured, products. We explore the business process ontology for modelling software services.
