Abstract
This paper researches tankers risk issues by detentions and deficiencies database of port state control in Europe and the North Atlantic region, Asia and Pacific region, a comparative analysis of tanker risks with other types of ship was carried out and also the risks on oil tankers, chemical tankers and liquefied gas carriers were studied, it was found that the risks of tankers by Port State Control (PSC) were lower than other types of ship, and chemical tankers will post more risk in future, also some comments were given to improve the safe operation and management of tankers.
