Abstract :
Summary form only given, as follows. IEEE RAS & EMBS BioRob 2012 is proud to announce awards for the Best Conference Paper and the Best Student Paper. These best paper awards are intended to set and honor a standard for excellence in Biomedical Robotics and Biomechatronics, and to inspire future directions in the field. The IEEE RAS & EMBS BioRob 2012 Awards Program chairs have defined the following process for selection of the best papers in each category. Papers have been ranked based on the comments of the reviewers, and a maximum of ten highest ranked papers per category have been selected for an in-depth evaluation at the conference. Based on the quality of the papers and of their presentation at the conference, the Award Program Committees will select one IEEE/RAS-sponsored best paper and one EMBS-sponsored best paper in each category for a prize. For the best student paper, the first author must be a student and must present the paper in person at the conference. The prize for the first place in each category is $500. All authors of the paper will receive an award certificate.
