Abstract
Dispersion compensated transmission of 43 ps long chirped pulses over 80 km of standard telecommunication fiber is demonstrated. A 100 mm long apodised fiber grating was used. The results show that the control of the chirp of the optical pulses used in transmission systems may not be necessary
