  • Abstract
    Turbo codes have raised great interest in the coding community and much progress has been made. It is known that the interleaver plays an important role in determining the performance of a particular turbo code. In this paper, we present an interleaver design procedure based on the generator matrices. It is shown that the performance of a turbo code can be enhanced by the interleaver obtained from the proposed design procedure
