Abstract
The zero crossing hybrid edge detector is a new approach to edge detection. It improves the immunity to noise of the edge detection process, while still maintaining an accurate localisation of the edges. This paper presents an analysis of the zero crossing hybrid edge detector and its response to varying noise environments.
