Abstract
The authors present a novel approach to adaptive beamforming using just a single snapshot to calculate the antenna weights. A structured and grouped array of sensor elements is assumed. This new concept exploits the induced special data structure which can be described as a generalized rank one eigenvalue problem and can be solved by means of a linear (overdetermined) system solver. Since the desired signal is reconstructed using just a single snapshot, no difficulties with nonstationary and coherent interferers arise. Furthermore, there does not exist any transient behavior of the algorithm. Simulations verify the very good statistical performance of this essentially deterministic approach.<>
