  • Abstract
A method for the automatic location of several characteristic points in an electrocardiogram (ECG) with an adaptive system tuned to the cardiologist´s criterion is described. So far, the points determined by the algorithm are the end and beginning of P and T waves, assigning different adaptation constants for each of these. The main advantages of the proposed method are immunity to noise, to base-line variations and adaptation to the criterion assumed by the cardiologist by marking a few pulses. The theoretical study is backed with a series of experimental results obtained from the analysis of the MIT-BIH database registers
