Abstract
Mutual coupling between elements in an array results in mismatch of individual elements to their feed and the distortion of the radiation pattern of the array. A quantitative analysis of the mutual coupling problem arising in arrays consisting of parallel dipoles with different spacing and diameters is presented. The numerical technique adopted in this analysis is the piecewise sinusoidal Galerkin method. Some numerical results of the mutual coupling effects in linear and circular arrays are presented. These results include variations of the input impedance due to the mutual coupling and variations of the input current due to the mutual coupling.<>
