Abstract
The interaction between heavy liquid metals and pressurized water is an important issue both for fusion and fission reactors of new generation. The main results of past experimental activities aimed to investigate this issue are summarized in this paper. A simplified model has been developed to reproduce some of these results. In conditions of water injected in the liquid metal pool at low pressure, the model gives satisfactory results.
