Chinese ideological and political education in the information age -A preliminary study of the changing roles of university teachers

With the information technology modernization and rapid developments in electronic media and the World Wide Web within the last thirty years, every country have to be information technology equipped and competent in every field, especially in education sector. So it is in China. The Ministry of Education (MOE) implemented rigorous plans for both teachers and students to possess the necessary skills and knowledge, especially making the major task for the teachers who mainly bear ideology and political courses. Based on preliminary interviews with practitioners and academics in the area of Education, this paper gives an insight to the changes that have been taking place in the education system in universities of China, especially in what case of university of Xi´an in Shanxi province of China. Overview of the changing roles that ideology education teachers have to assume, a brief discussion on how establish education information management system to make the process of Ideological and political education management and team construction in line with the needs of modern information technology.
