  • Abstract
This paper describes several of the approaches to insert time delay at subarrays for scanning wide band phased arrays. In order to avoid the large quantization lobes that result from the use of rectangular subarrays, researchers have developed techniques for overlapping subarrays, randomizing subarray locations and using irregular subarrays. This paper introduces each of these approaches, and reviews the latest developments in each.
