Abstract :
We use real time simulation computing facilities that encompass hardware and software to determine and detect signs and patterns of power system dynamic behaviors. We rely on SGI Origin supercomputer hardware and EMTP-RV software to develop the models and the computing facilities to study the dynamic behavior of power systems. Both time and frequency domain analysis serve as the building blocks in determining patterns of voltage stable and unstable cases in our studies. We include the models of power system components that we use in our study to simulate the 10-bus system of [1]. This paper includes some results of patterns of voltage stable and unstable operating conditions of the 10-bus system.
