Abstract
Intraesophageal diaphragmatic electromyography (DEMG) provides a signal which reflects central respiratory activity. However, the signal frequently is contaminated heavily by ECG artifacts. This report describes a novel ad-hoc procedure to detect inspiratory onset times from DEMG recordings, and presents digital filtering techniques for the removal of ECG artifact
