Abstract
The constrained least squares (CLS) compensation method is shown to be relatively insensitive to discretization of the feed array compensation excitations. The quantization of the CLS array element excitations was performed at three frequencies. The results at 6 GHz and 24 GHz were consistent with 12-GHz data. At all frequencies the CLS algorithm was unaffected by the phase quantization until the bins reached the 45 degrees level. The algorithm was insensitive to amplitude quantization at up to 3-dB discretization.<>
