Abstract :
The susceptibility of a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system to interference is of concern in both military and civil applications. The effects of interference can be seen on early images from the JERS system, for example, where the interference came from land based radars. A schematic illustration of an electronic countermeasures (ECM) scenario is shown. This paper introduces a novel radar equation relating the effectiveness of SAR ECM jamming to the main system parameters. The SEA SAR processing software, which can provide accurate simulations of SAR ECM jamming, is described and example simulations are shown
