Abstract
A measurement-based model of Mach-Zehnder electrooptic modulators is proposed that allows the design of a transmitter for optical analog links. The model, extracted for a modulator fabricated at Avanex laboratories, has been used to design a circuit in monolithic CMOS technology that provides broad-band improvement of spurious-free dynamic range.
