Abstract
New business creation is usually perceived as a complex and time consuming process filled with obstacles. Yet, this paper demonstrates that new business creation in software companies may come about quickly if they exploit the equivocality of the information technology and their interpretive capabilities to recycle existing software applications and enter new business areas
