Abstract
There has been a substantial growth in the commercial availability of network management systems and applications for today´s enterprise environment. Many more products are expected in future. This necessitates a standard framework for the evaluation of network management systems. Some research was recently reported on the evaluation of management platforms and management information models. However, there is no reported work on the comprehensive evaluation of integrated network management systems. This paper presents a new methodology for the evaluation of enterprise-wide network management systems. This uses inputs from a number of disciplines, such as telecommunications, software engineering, and social sciences
