Abstract
The authors discuss the existing and projected capabilities and applications of the Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Comprehensive Engine Diagnostic system (CEDS). CEDS is currently used on P&W (F100) and General Electric (F110) powered aircraft, however this discussion is limited to P&W applications. As a light weight, ruggedized, PC/MS-DOS based platform, CEDS is the heart of an integrated maintenance concept that includes automated troubleshooting, data storage, data transfer, performance tracking and trending, as well as documentation and archiving capabilities.
