The author discusses some recent investigations at Bellcore´s Applied Research Area (USA) which have centered on power supply issues which require serious attention if broadband service (600 Mb/s) is to become ubiquitous. He points out some of the issues involved and outlines the efforts Bellcore is taking to solve them
