  • Abstract
Telecommunications industry consortia, internal IT groups at telecommunications companies, and independent software vendors are striving to implement solutions that allow service requests and alarms to automatically flow through the layers of the TMN model. Manual intervention for administrative handling of requests and alarms is no longer a viable option where competitive customer service capabilities are important. It is generally agreed that these capabilities are critical to the basic success of telecommunications providers in the coming years. This paper summarizes the progress made in implementing process flow-through for an automated provisioning system created by Architel Systems, Inc. An overview of the architecture, benefits, and impact of the solution is provided. An overview of Architel´s ASAP system is provided, highlighting the benefits and value of the system. Architel´s impact on the industry has demonstrated the value of a balanced mixture of new and existing technologies, standards, and innovative software design
