Abstract
Experimental studies on collapse of n-pentane, isopentane and furan bubble in immiscible liquids like water and aqueous glycerol (75 wt% and 98.3% wt) are reported. Heat transfer characteristics indicate little variation in condensation heat transfer coefficient up to a condensation ratio, xk, of 0.8. For xk>0.8, sharp decline in the heat transfer coefficient is observed. Instantaneous complete condensation was observed at high value of ΔT (⩾15°C), and no condensation was observed at ΔT⩽2.5°C
