Abstract :
An EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) system based on SSA (Static Slot Allocation) is discussed in detail. How to create a queue model in upstream scheme of the EPON system based on SSA and how to confirm appropriate parameters in OPNET are also probed. Furthermore, the simulation analysis on the performance of EPON system has been performed. The simulation result shows that the performance of the EPON system based on SSA is better when the load is lower than 0.47. Under the condition of long distance, it is proposed that the SSA algorithm is applied in the EPON system.
