Betacam SX-a revolution for news gathering

This paper examines the new demands being placed on electronic news gathering equipment and proposes a solution the Betacam SX system. Firstly the new programming demands being placed on the equipment are examined. Next the enabling technologies which could satisfy them are considered. This is followed by a description of how these technologies are employed in the Sony Betacam SX system. Finally, an overview of the Betacam SX system is given
