Abstract
Switched Reluctance Machine is applied for many industry applications because it has simple structure, high variable speed range. This paper introduces a novel configuration for a four phase switched reluctance machine. The proposed novel machine consists of two magnetically stator and rotor layers, where each stator set includes eight salient poles with windings wrapped around them, while the rotor comprises of six salient poles with different arc lengths and no windings. This motor includes the two sets are connected dependently. In this connection the stator poles in each layer can have both North and South Pole configurations. A new four phase 8/6 two layers Switched Reluctance Machine is proposed for analysis with 3D Finite Element Method (FEM) by numerical techniques. The motor application is simulated with Magnet Software to get motor´s characteristics consist of flux and torque. A novel four phase field assisted Switched Reluctance Generator (SRG) is proposed. This generator consists of two magnetically dependent stator and rotor sets. The magneto static simulation is carried out in this study.
