The author describes the financial aspects of a power plant project funded primarily by limited recourse bank debt, i.e. an independent power project (IPP). He describes how it is in this field that new opportunities are arising and where engineers and financiers are being required to work together to address new issues, new risks and, it is hoped, new rewards
