Application of fly ash in the treatment of oil-containing wastewater

In order to solve the environmental pollution caused by oil-containing wastewater and fly ash, application of fly ash as sorbent, added after modification and combined with other process in the treatment of oil-containing wastewater was summarized. The results show that application of fly ash in oil containing wastewater treatment has the characteristic of simple in process, good effect and lower operation cost. And this process has expansive application foreground. The problems remained were pointed out. Further research on the mechanism of wastewater treatment with fly ash, separation and final utilization of the saturated fly ash are needed to do in the near future.
