Abstract :
With the optical transfer matrix method, this Thesis has presented the characteristic matrix the one-dimensional photonic crystal of the material of positive and negative refractive index and has researched the energy band structure characteristics. Through numerical simulation calculation, we have obtained the result that, the optical thickness and the negative refractive index of the photonic crystal material affect the forbidden band width and the location of the transmission spectrum central wavelength; the forbidden band central location will move toward the direction of the long wave as the optical thickness increases, and the band gap width will increase as the material thickness and refractive index increase; after foreign substances are incorporated into the photonic crystal of the material of positive and negative refractive index, the forbidden band will have defects, and the center of the defect mode and the frequency width will change with the change of the foreign substance absorption coefficient. These conclusions drawn herein will provide new methods for optical utilization, transmission and control.
