Abstract :
Cylindrical microstrip antennas find many applications pertaining to high-speed aircraft and spacecraft because of their conformity with the aerodynamical structure of such vehicles. Multilayered cylindrical media have also found many practical applications. There are, however, few accurate analytical models due to the curvature of the surface. The Green´s functions necessary for a moment method model are derived and evaluated for cylindrical microstrip structures. The Green´s function method tends to be highly accurate and computationally efficient. The main advantage of the method of moments is that functional equations of field theory are reduced to matrix equations. The computation of field quantity simply corresponds to multiplication of matrices. Current-distribution can be obtained using this method. Numerical and graphical results of radiation pattern and input impedance for a three-layered and four-layered cylindrical structure are presented. The results obtained for both structures are compared
