Abstract :
For process with time delay, this paper mainly presents tuning methods of Smith predictive control system based on optimal transfer functions. Details are provided about how to design the PI or PID controller separately for the first order lag process with dead time (FOPDT) and the second order lag process with dead time (SOPDT). Simulation results are given to show the validity of the methods. Due to simpleness and utility of the methods, they will be widely used in control field.
