Abstract
This article presents a methodology for modelling and optimization of radio interfaces of 2G, 3G and 4G access networks. The basics for modelling of interfaces with embedded traffic management mechanisms are described and discussed. A particular attention is given to the problems stemming from the introduction of the IP technology to the 3G and 4G radio access networks.
