Abstract
The note studies the finite-time speed tracking for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). In contrast to the traditional at most exponential convergent control algorithm, the finite-time control methods based on continuous state feedback are more suitable for application to control engineering. The systematic strategy involves the finite-time Lyapunov stability theorem and the application of backstepping technique. The proposed controller can guarantee the PMSM track the desired speed in the global sense as well as in finite-time. The simulation results show the efficiency of the method.
