Abstract
This paper studies the problems of exponential stability and stabilization for sampled data control systems with state feedback. An improved delay approach is presented. By taking the characteristic of the sampled data systems into consideration, a novel piecewise Lyapunov functional is defined. Combining with a convex combination technique, new less conservative stability and stabilization results are formulated as linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Illustrative examples show that the proposed conditions are effective and can significantly improve the existing results.
