Abstract :
Electrical resistivity is one of the inherent properties of soil, which is largely dependent on the component, structure and strength of soils. Electrical resistivity of soil is often described by such parameters as the average structure factor (F) and the average shape factor (f). Resistivity tests were used to study the electrical resistivity of stabilized silt in this paper. The test results show that there is a good linear relationship between the unconfined compressive strength and the resistivity of stabilized silts at different ages. Both average structure factor and average shape factor of stabilized silts increase with the increasing unconfined compressive strength, addition of stabilizing agent, and curing age. Resistivity tests can provide an effective and convenient method to determine a reasonable program for stabilizing silts by measure of the resistivity of silts stabilized with different programs.
