  • Abstract
    The mechanical characters of columnar jointed rock mass at Baihetan hydropower station of Jinshajiang River are significant to building and running of hydropower station. Under the geological survey and in-situ test, columnar jointed rock mass is divided into columnar mosaic blocky structure and columnar mosaic cataclastic structure. The rock mass quality evaluation method of RMI is introduced to analyze columnar jointed rock mass at Baihetan and evaluate mechanical parameters of columnar jointed rock mass. Compared to results in existing, it shows that RMI method can well describe the engineering mechanical properties of irregular columnar jointed basaltic mass and can be applied to the rock mass quality assessment in similar projects.
