Abstract
In many practical systems to be controlled, the control can be implemented by using traditional output feedback or by using adaptive feedback While both methods can often meet the given system performance specification, their responses are in general different. This paper compares the two methods using a typical controlled plant as the vehicle for discussion. It will be shown that each of the two has its own merit.
