Social harmony assessment and tendency forecasting in JiangXi province

This study aims to take a quantificational viewpoint of social harmony in JiangXi. According to the connotation of socialist harmonious society, a social harmony evaluation index system is constructed by including six dimensions and twenty four items. The statistical results shows four dimensions of the evaluation index system obviously go upward from 2000 to 2009, two dimensions have no obviously rising. As to the 16 quantitative indicators, ten indicators are rising, five remain almost no rising and no decline, and only one is declining from 2000 to 2009. The total harmony degree of JiangXi in 2009 is 0.610 (as a full mark is 1) and the degree is nearly linear going up. Up to 2020, the harmonious index may around 0.85, and range from 0.78 to 0.95. This study is expected to be helpful for related government policy decisions.
