Abstract :
An interactive system is investigated in the context of extension and intention of gene, memo, and man. An interactive evolutionary system is explored to implement composing machine as a modern art form. Music based on fractals and genetic algorithm, IFGAM, is proposed and composed. Humans are interacting with a genetic algorithm-based evaluator, a human fitness function based on heuristic tune variations, to improve the musical seed data generated by fractal algorithms. IFGAM´s learning scheme can be extended and applied to the complicated engineering problems with difficult to define performance evaluations, where humans can do well.
