Abstract :
This article showed the integration between expert system and artificial neural network in artificial intelligence, based on principles of expert system, combined with the ceramic formula theoretical and practical technique, which is introduced in the analysis of ceramic formula design. Present expert system uses inference rules and plays an important role that will provide certain methods for ceramic formula design to select out blank materials or glaze materials. The purpose of this work is to develop an expert system shell and then use it for the ceramic formula design with extensive information and data collected from different sources. The issues of knowledge representation, development of the knowledge base and interface solution have been considered.
