Abstract :
The availability of computers in elementary schools increases the potential to use e-learning games to teach children. It is essential to user test such games to make sure they are an effective learning tool that offers a benefit over existing learning methods in order to be adopted by schools striving to provide the best and most effective education. This case study underlines the differences between testing adults in the field compared to testing children in an elementary school environment. Students in two Chicago (USA) elementary schools in diverse neighborhoods were observed playing an existing online e-learning math game. The results were analyzed to improve future user tests in elementary schools
