Abstract
The paper presents an inspection method by means of stochastic qualitative simulation for sensor installation faults in air conditioning systems. Sensor installation faults often occur in newly-constructed or newly-maintained systems. Since the installation faults of sensors present themselves in the form of changes of measured values, the authors have proposed an inspection method for sensor installation faults. First, one constructs a qualitative model based on the specifications. Next, the measured values are modified according to the assumed sensor installation faults. Finally, faults are identified by using stochastic qualitative reasoning. This method is demonstrated by applying it to an air conditioning system
