Abstract
Histogram Equalization is no doubt, is one of the most effective technique to process the digital images for contrast enhancement, but not for all images. In some cases traditional histogram equalization can cause bad results. There is a remedy given in this paper that takes over the traditional histogram equalization which proposes a technique and according to that we have to modify our image. This paper deals with histogram equalization with a segmented approach which reflects a better result than the conventional one. Further a comparison is made between a number of techniques on the basis of Absolute mean brightness error (AMBE) and PSNR values.
