Improvement of substation maintenance

This paper presents the way of idea and practice of Dalian Electric Power Supply Company (DPSC) concerning transformation of substation equipment maintenance strategy from the time-based periodical maintenance to state-based state maintenance (also called foresighted maintenance). The key to this state maintenance lies in the profound grasp of the principle information of equipment state and enhancement of whole-time course management (longitudinal) over each individual equipment and comprehensive (transversal) management over all the equipment. This paper also introduces some monitoring devices developed by DPSC for this purpose and the information management system of equipment state, which is now under construction
